A romantic comedy story with time-travel drama is seriously an amazing twist for an anime film. That’s the flakes of entertainment that Kimi no Na wa. has to offer to everyone. It’s the latest film from the master animator himself, Makoto Shinkai. The name that gave us the melancholic
. Now, his new film titled Kimi no Na wa. (Your Name.) literally surpassed all of his amazing anime films and it actually keeps on breaking box office records in Japanese movie history since its release on late August of this year.
Your Name. is a love story that transcend the distance between time and changed destiny itself. It features the story of love, friendship, determination with astounding music on the background and visually stunning animation. In my own opinion, Garden of Words visuals are magical and of higher quality than Your Name. but the latter was seriously amazingly done.

When it comes to storytelling, Your Name. have its own magic which you can easily distinguished from the rest of Makoto Shinkai films. Though, we can’t hide the fact that there are so many scenes in the film that reminded us of
The time-travel aspect is quite debatable but it has been shrouded by the film’s beautiful animation and emphasis on the romance between Taki and Mitsuha (hero & heroine of the film). Nonetheless, the fact that they’re able to change destiny and Taki successfully saved Mitsuha and the entire village from that disaster was really satisfying. That’s one of the thing that made this story quite a happy one unlike some of Shinkai’s film (cough cough
, I’m still sobbing with Shun’s death) there’s no death involve. I mean Mitsuha survived because of her and Taki’s determination and love for each other, they conquered time in order to change their fates.

And finally, Your Name. soundtrack is really catchy and amazingly good for the ears. I personally like Zen Zen Zenze by RADWIMPS. In fact, all of the music used in the film really sounds great and that’s something that we should expect from a Makoto Shinkai film. On my end, my favorite song from his film is “
